Our client is a leading product company in Materials Science. As part of a Global Leadership Team, your main area of responsibility will be to challenge and support the development of new revenue streams from new and existing markets. This will involve winning hearts and minds and so will require a high impact/visibility leadership style.

Responsible for the ‘innovation journey’ - the critical path and criteria that each potential piece of innovation must pass to become fully commercialised, this role will need you to build a proactive innovation process; the company must become alert and responsive to ad hoc opportunities that arise reactively. You will also ‘hot house’ major opportunities and run the market testing process through and post launch. Once new innovations are proven they will be handed fully to the operating divisions.

Some innovation may be licensed in or out, JVs could be formed or technology sold. Therefore you will need to advise on the best structures to drive optimal returns. This complex role is above all a big leadership position with excellent executive prospects.

Candidate Profile

A graduate business professional with probably 15-20 years of impressive commercial experience, a strong academic background possibly supported by an MBA and/or PHD.

An impressive track record of leveraging innovation in Materials Science to create sustainable revenue streams through new applications, products and categories.

Analytical skills along with a creative ‘feel’ for business.

Exceptional understanding of technology, engineering, and materials science is essential.
